According to CATSA guidelines, solar-operated items use built-in panels to convert sunlight into electricity. If your device includes a built-in lithium battery: Under 100 Wh: Permitted in both carry-on and checked baggage Between 100 Wh and 160 Wh: Allowed in carry-on only, with airline approval Over 160 Wh: Not permitted in carry-on, allowed in checked baggage with airline approval Ensure the battery is properly installed in the device. Spare batteries must be individually protected—use original packaging, tape over terminals, or a protective case to prevent short-circuiting.
