According to CATSA guidelines, terminals of all spare lithium batteries placed in carry-on baggage must be protected from short circuit by: enclosing them in their original retail packaging taping over the terminals, or placing each battery in a separate plastic bag (or protective pouch). Important: Up to 2 spare batteries of a maximum of 160 Wh are permitted in your carry-on. ​Important: Spare lithium batteries require air carrier approval for checked baggage.
